Midwest Land Management and Real Estate Inc. specializes in assisting clients with farm management, crop insurance and farm real estate brokerage transactions. Founded in 1988 by Mark Nothwehr and Dalen Heida, Midwest Land Management takes great pride in being independently owned and having the ability to custom design a plan to meet specific client needs. In 2016 the ownership was transitioned to Travis Johnson and Ben Hollesen who together have 35 years of experience in the land business and value building long-term and sustainable relationships with their clients.

Ben’s connections and vast farm real estate background will prove to be beneficial to both buyers and sellers. Ben is an auctioneer and licensed real estate broker in Iowa, Minnesota & South Dakota specializing in land auctions and private listings of farmland.

Accredited Farm Manager, Farm Real Estate Sales

Travis brings over 14 years of professional farm management, real estate and crop insurance sales experience to the Midwest Land Management team. Travis is an Accredited Farm Manager (AFM), the highest designation given by the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. Travis works closely with land owner clients to meet their goals and objectives on their farmland investment. In addition to professional farm management, his primary focus, Travis also works with current and prospective farmland owners providing knowledgeable advice on best strategies for purchasing or selling farmland according to their needs.

Shane Brant

Farm Manager, Farm Real Estate Sales

Shane grew up on a family farm just southeast of Terril, IA.  As a graduate of Iowa State University in Agronomy, Shane understands crops, soils, and the changing dynamic of the farming industry.  He brings over 15 years of experience in the crop input business to the Midwest Land Management team.  Shane’s background working with local growers and landowners will assist clients in making sound management and investment decisions.

Zach Anderson

Zach grew up on a family farm in Palo Alto County, Iowa just south of Emmetsburg and understands the values of a small town agricultural community.  A graduate of Buena Vista University, Zach’s background is in retail ag, selling various inputs and helping growers and land owners be more profitable in their operations. As a licensed real estate agent for Midwest Land Management, his primary focus is farm real estate sales including both land auctions and private listings.

Jerod Olson

Farm Manager, Farm Real Estate Sales
Jerod currently manages a large scale multi-county direct farming operation for a  Midwest Land Management client. He grew up on a family farm south of Spencer, Iowa and has spent the last 20 years in the crop input business. His knowledge of crop production from ag retail will prove beneficial for Midwest Land Managment clients. He is a licensed real estate agent in the State of Iowa and would like to visit with you regarding farm real estate, farm management or crop insurance.

Jason has spent his entire career in the agriculture sector focusing on developing solutions for farmer customers. During his career he has spent time selling, providing agronomic solutions, and leading and developing sales teams. Residing in Kingsley, Iowa, Jason brings almost 25 years of agricultural experience to the Midwest Land Management team.  His strong desire to serve the customer and extensive Ag background will assist clients in the selling or purchasing of farmland.

Glenn has been in the agribusiness field his entire life, working in the grain, feed and fertilizer industry for 16 years and selling commercial insurance to grain, feed and agronomy clients for 30 years. As a licensed real estate agent for Midwest Land Management, his primary focus is commercial hog buildings. His experience working with the diverse needs of farmers will benefit clients looking to buy or sell swine facilities in today's rapidly changing market.

Clint is a contract auctioneer at Midwest Land Management and has been in the auction business for over 50 years. Clint has vast knowledge and experience selling farmland at public auction and is a well-respected businessman in the community.
